Private creative workshops

Book a creative afternoon for your group - I come to you

Ink & watercolor sketching for bachelorette parties, birthdays, team days and friend groups. I bring everything, it is taught in English, and it is made for people who are sure they cannot draw.

What people book it for

Two hours that everyone actually remembers

🥂

Bachelorette parties

Something calmer than the usual afternoon, and far more memorable. Everyone goes home with a painting instead of a hangover.

🎂

Birthdays

A lovely way to spend a birthday with the people you like most, doing something none of you expected to be good at.

🌿

Team days

No ice-breakers, no flip charts. Just a table, some paint, and colleagues who end up laughing at their own trees.

💐

Friends and family

Baby showers, reunions, a mother and daughter afternoon, or no reason at all. Small groups are where this works best.

The sessions

Four sessions, or something made for you

Each one is two hours with all materials included. If none of these is quite right for your group, tell me what they would love and I will build the session around that.

How it works

From your message to paint on the table

Four simple steps, and I do most of the work.

1

Tell me about your group

How many of you, roughly when, and what you are celebrating. A couple of lines is plenty to start.

2

We choose the session together

I will suggest whichever of the four suits your group, or we shape something around what they would love. Then we settle the date and the place - your home, your office, a rented space, a cafe with a big enough table.

3

I bring everything

Paper, ink, brushes, paints, palettes. Nobody needs to own a single brush or buy a thing.

4

We paint together

Two calm hours, taught in English, slow enough for complete beginners. Everyone leaves with something they made themselves.

I finished “Meditative Leaves” and loved it. I'd recently decided to add ink to my watercolor - your class came at the most perfect timing and was EXACTLY what I was looking for!

Questions

The things people ask me first

Nobody in our group can draw. Is that a problem?+
That is usually the whole group, and it is exactly who these afternoons are made for. Every step is simple and slow, and there is no perfection here, only beauty. Nothing to be afraid of.
How many people do we need to be?+
Six is the smallest group I take, and above that it is flexible - I have happily taught a group of fourteen. The price changes with the size of the group, so just tell me how many of you there are and I will work it out.
Where can you come?+
I am based in Schiedam and I travel across the Netherlands - Rotterdam, Delft, Den Haag, Leiden, Utrecht, Haarlem, Amsterdam, Breda and further. If your city is not on that list, just ask.
Do we need to find a venue?+
Not necessarily. Plenty of groups do it at someone's home or at their office, and that works beautifully. All I really need is a table everyone can sit around and a bit of daylight.
What do we need to bring or buy?+
Nothing at all. I bring the paper, the ink, the brushes, the paints and the palettes, and I set the table up before you arrive.
What language is it in?+
English. It works well for international groups and for anyone living here who would rather not do their creative afternoon in Dutch.
How long does it take?+
Two hours, and we keep them unhurried on purpose. The slowness is half the point - it is where people stop worrying about getting it right.
How far ahead should we book?+
The more notice the better, especially for weekends. If your date is soon, send me a message anyway - sometimes it works out.
